Antique 9 ct Yellow Gold Figaro-style Watch Fob with 9 ct Gold Championship Shield
This fine fob was crafted in Birmingham England in 1900. Each of the chain links that make up this watch fob are individually marked with a 9 ct gold fineness "9" and ".375"
The antique chain T-bar & swivel-clasp are hallmarked with the maker's mark "JG&S" (John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham, England c1871-1905).
The shield is a 9k gold hallmarked and the face of the shield contains the interwoven initials "W.H." and the reverse has the fineness stamp, assay office, year crafted & the maker's mark, as well as the details of the championship - "C&S.D.B.L Rink Championship Competition - 1900 - Won by W. Hood - MBRO B.C.(Middlesbrough, England)"
This impressive antique watch fob is of a fine hand-crafted quality. It is a very good gauge. The chain and shield are both hallmarked and shows signs of wear in keeping with its age.
